Layne’s Clocks has vacated its location at 5618 E. Broadway, where by it operated given that 1978, and moved again to the household residence at 6602 E. Broadway, stated Nancy Layne, daughter of founder Bert Layne.

The spouse and children business enterprise concept for Layne’s Clocks, started when Bert Layne uncovered a pocket look at as a compact boy and took it aside to see what made it tick.




“We have so numerous customers who come in and say, ‘Kids don’t put on watches anymore,’” Layne reported. “I say, ‘Yes, they do’, but seriously entertainers have on them as a piece of jewellery much more than something.”

“It’s sad due to the fact there is just not that several repairmen any more,” Layne reported.

But, some more youthful customers who come across unique clocks at thrift shops typically come to the store to see if they can be fastened to run all over again.

“I imagine the youthful era is weary of throwing things absent,” Layne said.

The family business plan commenced when her father found a pocket observe as a small boy and took it aside to see what built it tick.
