Tucson’s past discounted film theater has long gone dark.

The Gateway Century 12 developing at 770 N. Kolb Street, has been bought to builders whose plans have not been introduced.

The 45,556-sq.-foot constructing sits on a 6-acre parcel just south of Speedway.

Its closure is reflective of the problem dealing with movie theaters, explained Greg Furrier, a retail broker with Picor, who managed the sale.

“The pandemic, coupled with other complications these types of as streaming of to start with-run flicks, and so forth., have taken their toll,” he claimed. “There are a lot of items pushing and pulling on the market.”
